Third: Joe Buck – Cain Scores From First Again!

One of the best games on the 2015 Royals’ postseason was the sixth game of the ALCS. The Royals watched a two-run lead disappear on one swing of the bat from Jose Bautista.

After Ned Yost had to use Wade Davis early to keep the game tied, the game went into a rain delay that had everyone wondering who was going to lock up the game if the Royals could take the lead.

They’d need to score early if they were going to have a shot at using Wade Davis again and Eric Hosmer and Lorenzo Cain delivered with a little help from Mike Jirschele.

"“That’s into right field. This ball is … down. Going to third is Cain. Holding at first…Now Cain coming to the plate! Royals’ Lead! He can fly!” – Joe Buck"

This is the last time you’ll have to read about or hear Joe Buck in this countdown. When he’s not talking about Bumgardner he’s not too hard to listen to.

The Royals would hold that lead in a very eventful and uncomfortable top of the ninth inning that saw the tying and go-ahead runs in scoring position. The rest, as they say, is history.
