The Royals’ fans didn’t stop their support either. Things got better as the Royals set an attendance record during the regular season in 2015.

Fans stayed in their seats and ready to rally for every out of the postseason. They had seen Royals’ magic before, they just didn’t know how much they would see this season.

The Royals leaned on the fans and the fans leaned on the Royals. The Royals wouldn’t come up short this time and they left fans breathless one game after another.

I had heard about the impact the team had on the city and its fans prior to this trip. I also knew how much it had meant to my family and the effect it had on them. It wasn’t until I made it into Kansas City that I saw how big an impact on the city that it actually had.

Yes, the Royals have meant a lot to their fans over the last couple years, and I am no exception.

If you can’t tell already, I have a very romanticized view when it comes to baseball. Nothing makes me happier than to see a simple game have such an impact on people’s lives. When the team you love is the team inspiring people it makes it that much better.

I’ve lived out of state for nearly seven years now. When the Royals went to the World Series in 2014, I kicked myself all offseason for not making it back to watch games with my family. I wasn’t going to make that same mistake in 2015.

In 2015, I made sure I would be back during the World Series and bought plane tickets home nearly two months in advance. It was a gamble that paid off and I was thrilled to get the chance to watch the team my family loved in a group setting.
