KC Royals: Mike Moustakas Five Biggest Moments
By Scott Dillon
Honorable Mention Part I: Ending The Frustration
Mike Moustakas has too many good plays to narrow down the list to just five. All of the plays on this list come from his last two years of play.
It’s not that he hasn’t had some big moments in the past, but he’s had so many big moments in the postseason that they far outweigh the rest.
While this first honorable mention play isn’t anything special, it was nice to see him be a part of it.
Again, this was a routine play but it carried with it a lot of significance. The Royals had drafted two players to help turn this franchise around when they picked up Eric Hosmer and Mike Moustakas.
What better way to stamp the ticket to the World Series and end “29 years of frustration” than to have the proverbial cornerstones of the organization, and actual corners of the infield, make the final out.
Any play that warrants cheers this loud by the fans is worth a mention:
This video gives me goosebumps every time. You can hear the crowd hold it’s breath as one unit as the ball is hit to Moustakas. When they realize he has it the cheers become a little louder. When Hosmer receives the final out, the crowd goes wild.
