The KC Royals have gotten some good baseball out of fan-favorite Mike Moustakas. What are some of his biggest moments?

There are a lot of things going right for the KC Royals these days. They’re coming off their second straight World Series appearance and the latest one didn’t end in heartbreak. It’s fun to watch and their turnaround has been nothing short of spectacular.

Even something perceived as bad has become a good thing for the Royals since 2011 when Mike Moustakas made his debut. To the untrained ear the stadium erupts in what sounds like ‘booing’ when Mike Moustakas strolls to the plate. It’s instead, a chorus of adoring fans chanting ‘MOOOOOSE’!

Yes, that moose that roams near the third base bag has been one of the fan favorites ever since he got called up, and really even before that. He’s a gritty player who the fans struggled with and felt for as he tried to figure out his game.

In 2015, everything clicked for the Royals’ third basemen. What had once been a pull happy approach, had turned into a complete player. Not only is he slashing the ball to left field now, but he’s also got a great glove at third base.

Last year, it was Lorenzo Cain who entered the MVP discussion. Don’t be surprised if Mike Moustakas is considered this season.

Let’s take a look back at some of his best moments on both sides of the ball and count down his five biggest Royals’ moments.
