Round 6 – Pick 28: Aziz Shittu, Defensive End (Standford)

The Kansas City Chiefs take their second Standford Cardinal in the sixth-round of this mock draft when the select defensive end Aziz Shittu.

Aziz Shittu is the perfect player to take in the sixth-round. He’s not someone who’s expected to come right in and make a big contribution from day one. He’s got some upside, but needs to refine his skills.

See what CBSSports.com has to say about the defensive end out of Standford:

"Shittu has a terrific motor, chasing ballcarriers laterally and downfield in pursuit. He brings his hips as a hitter, arriving with a thud. Showed resiliency in bouncing back from a serious knee injury (and resulting surgery) in 2014 to enjoy a breakout senior season to cap his career. Viewed by some as an ascending prospect whose best football is still ahead of him. More from Chiefs Draft Analysis Will Chiefs Draft Western Kentucky Hilltopper DeAngelo Malone? The Chiefs who already have a fairly deep roster on the defensive line, can allow Shittu to develop. He can learn from some of the best players in the league and become a better pass-rusher with the help of his coaching staff.

Since he doesn’t really specialize in one facet of the game, he’s capable of potentially being a versatile player. Having a solid depth piece that can give the starters rest without getting beat all the time is a very desirable trait.
