Patrick Corbin

ADP: 55th pitcher – 192nd overall (20th round)

Patrick Corbin is not going to be your best strikeout pitcher. He’s also not going to be your ERA or WHIP leader. He’s probably not going to lead your team in wins either, but he does play for a very good Diamondbacks team.

Corbin is another 26-year-old pitcher coming off a Tommy John Surgery, but unlike Moore, his 2015 wasn’t all that bad.

More from Fantasy Baseball

He posted a 3.60 ERA in 2015 with a strikeout rate of 8.3 Ks/9. The strikeout rate was a career best for Corbin and while his WHIP wasn’t all that good, it was good to see him bounce back so quickly.

The scary piece with Corbin is that he didn’t get better as the season went on. He came out of the chutes firing on all cylinders as he posted a 3.21 ERA with a 9.3 Ks/9 rate and a WHIP of 1.000.

He got blown up in his next five starts before rebounding in his final six starts of the year. While his ERA got better at the end, his strikeout rate dropped considerably.

The bottom line is that he’s not going to be your best pitcher, but he could certainly outperform a 20th round pick. If he pitches like he did in 2013, you’ll want him in your rotation.
