Fantasy Baseball: 2016 Bounce Back Sleepers Position Players
By Scott Dillon
Second Base: Dustin Pedroia
ADP: 16th Second Baseman, 170th overall (17th round)
Dustin Pedroia is another player who missed a significant amount of playing time last year. It was the first time since 2010 that he failed to play in 100 games, but he still put together 12 home runs in only 381 at-bats.
It was nice to see Pedroia get back to double-digit home run totals last season. He hadn’t done that since his 2012 season when he hit 15 home runs.

The good news is Dustin Pedroia is healthy this year and is ready to make an impact. The Red Sox haven’t made a lot of offensive improvements in the off-season, but he should have plenty of protection if he’s batting in-between Mookie Betts and Xander Boegarts.
Over the last three seasons, Pedroia ranks in the top ten in a lot of offensive categories. He’s not one of the better home run hitters and he’s not going to steal a lot of bases so he shouldn’t be one of your top picks.
While Pedroia isn’t the MVP caliber player he used to be, he’s certainly not the 16th worst fantasy baseball second baseman. Don’t let one down year dissuade you from taking a run at him in the later rounds.
