Third: 2014 ALDS Game Two: Go Ahead Home Run
The Royals made a habit of going to extra-innings in the postseason in 2014 and game two of the ALDS was no exception. This was a game that featured great plays across the board.
Yordano Ventura, who could have been ruined in his first postseason outing, touched 102 miles per hour on the radar gun in this game. Jarrod Dyson made a double play in center field that may have saved the game for the Royals when he did this:
That could have put the go-ahead run on third base for the Angels with only one out in the inning. It should be noted that Wade Davis was on the hill and he probably would have found his way out of it somehow.
With the game tied and Lorenzo Cain on first base, Eric Hosmer decided they had played enough baseball for one day. He decided to give the Royals a two-run lead with a no-doubt home run to right field:
The Royals would add on to this lead and win the game comfortably in the bottom half of the inning. Eric Hosmer also went deep in the next game to help the Royals sweep the Angels.
