The Good: Re-signing fan favorites

We’ll end on a good note, and that’s the KC Chiefs bringing back Tamba Hali and Derrick Johnson. Both guys were signed to three-year deals worth around $20 million apiece.

Obviously, fans wanted to see both of these guys return to Chiefs Kingdom. You want to see guys spend their entire careers with one team because it’s so rare these days. Now, it looks more and more likely that both Tamba Hali and Derrick Johnson will spend their entire careers as members of the Kansas City Chiefs.

Both guys have proven to be anchors on the defense, and both guys will forever go down as Chiefs legends.

The coolest part about both of these players returning is that they both clearly wanted to be back in Kansas City. DJ had said after the playoff loss to New England that he wanted to be a Chief next year, and Hali said he never considered going anywhere else.

They both believe in this team and in this organization and that’s really cool to see. Hopefully the KC Chiefs can go out and win a Super Bowl in the next three years for both of these guys! They deserve it more than anybody.
