The Bad: Losing Jeff Allen

The first bad for the Kansas City Chiefs was losing Jeff Allen to the Houston Texans. Allen was arguably the best offensive lineman for the Chiefs last year, and not having him around will hurt the team for sure.

Allen was injured frequently last year, but he provided versatility along the line. He could be plugged in almost anywhere and still be effective for the team.

Fortunately, the Chiefs went out and got Mitchell Schwartz from the Cleveland Browns, but man… It would have been nice to have had Allen and Schwartz on the line next season. We’ve seen how a good offensive line can make or break a team.

The Chiefs also lost Donald Stephenson (and to the Broncos… Yuck), but his presence along the line won’t be missed nearly as much as Allen’s.
