The Good: Bringing back Jaye Howard

I can’t express how happy I was when this deal went down on Wednesday night. Not only did the Kansas City Chiefs retain Jaye Howard, they got him on a dime of a deal.

Howard signed a two-year deal with the Chiefs for $12 million, which is awesome for both him and the organization.

The deal works well for both sides, as the Chiefs get Howard for at least two more seasons, and Howard will only be 29 when coming off the deal. He’ll still have an opportunity to get elite defensive end money.

The fact that Howard chose to come to Kansas City for this type of deal shows that he has confidence in the team moving forward. The defense should still be pretty strong with Howard re-joining Allen Bailey and Dontari Poe up front.

Opposing offensive lines will once again have their work cut out for them when it comes to facing the Chiefs’ defense. Thanks to Howard, this unit is a force to be reckoned with once again.
