Chase Daniel

Chase Daniel spent three years in Kansas City backing up Alex Smith. He was pretty overpaid for a backup, especially when you consider he only started two games and threw one touchdown during that time.

Doug Pederson is the head coach of the Eagles now, and Daniel worked with him all three seasons while in Kansas City.

With Tyler Bray and Aaron Murray on the roster, it’s inevitable that Daniel will be suiting up for a different team in 2016. He already tweeted that he was moving out of Kansas City, and has been tweeting about being back in his home state of Texas.

Daniel could potentially be a starter next season, but it’d also make sense for him to continue on as a backup, as there are better starters on the market (Robert Griffin III and Brock Osweiler to name a few).

If I had to guess, I’d say Daniel winds up either in Houston or in Philadelphia. Doug Pederson is the head coach of the Eagles now, and Daniel worked with him all three seasons while in Kansas City. The Eagles did just re-sign Sam Bradford though, which means he’d likely be a backup once again.

Patrick Wall of Bleeding Green Nation reported that the Eagles are indeed the favorites to land Daniel.

One thing’s for certain though. Chase Daniel won’t be a Chief in 2016.
