Number Five Underrated Free Agent – Rueben Randle

For years now, Kansas City Chiefs fans have been vying for two reliable wide receivers to line up on the offense. Last year, the Chiefs went out and acquired Jeremy Maclin, which gave them a legitimate number one receiver for the first time in several years.

It’s true that Randle has never really established himself as a breakout receiver, but a new location and a new quarterback could do wonders for the former second round pick.

Now, the team desperately needs to add a legit number two receiver while the Chiefs are still hot. Rueben Randle isn’t the flashiest name out there, but he could be a great fit in Kansas City.

He’s had 20 touchdowns in four seasons of work with the New York Giants, but had eight of them last year. Chris Wesseling and Gregg Rosenthal at NFL.com had Randle on their Top 99 list of free agents this offseason and said this,

"Drawing single coverage opposite Odell Beckham, Randle had one of the cushiest gigs in the league last season. Rather than establishing himself as the long-term Robin to Beckham’s Batman, he remained frustratingly inconsistent."

It’s true that Randle has never really established himself as a breakout receiver, but a new location and a new quarterback could do wonders for the former second round pick. He’s still young, and Andy Reid knows how to get good production out of his receivers.

Plus, Randle likely wouldn’t be too expensive for the team and maybe they could get him on a one or even a two year deal.

People wouldn’t be jumping for joy if the KC Chiefs brought in Rueben Randle, but it’d certainly be a step in the right direction.
