Kansas City Chiefs: Five Underrated Free Agents to Target

The Kansas City Chiefs could be losing some key players in free agency. On the flip side of that, they could make it a point to bring in some underrated talent and keep the team strong.

Free agency begins next week and KC Chiefs fans are somewhat panicking at the thought of losing key players such as Tamba Hali, Jaye Howard, Derrick Johnson, and Sean Smith among others. Don’t lose faith though, Chiefs fans, as the team can still acquire great talent from other teams.

With free agency beginning in just a few days, I thought it might be beneficial to look at some of the lesser talked about free agents and what they could bring to Kansas City. These guys are all free agents, but aren’t the big ones like Malik Jackson, Eric Weddle, or Mario Williams.

We all know that the Kansas City Chiefs can’t afford to spend big bucks on players, which is a huge reason why Smith will likely be departing next week. He’ll get a huge contract with a team who can afford to pay him (hopefully not the Raiders) and that won’t be with the Chiefs.
