Four: Royals go 1-12 with runners in scoring position. Will score 0 runs this season.

In case you’re wondering, Brett Eibner wound up drawing a walk in this situation. I guess that’s something, right?

It’s not just Eric Hosmer who isn’t hitting with runners in scoring position. None of the Royals seem to be able to find outfield grass when there are runners on second or third base. In all the Royals left nine runners on base in game two. That’s something they’re generally good at avoiding.

In 2015, the Royals his .278 with runners in scoring position and that was only when there was two outs. They were one of the best in the league in that statistic.

Again, this is nothing to worry about. Most of the regular players weren’t in the game and the ones that were are still trying to get loose. There is no reason to panic. At least not yet.

If this is still going on in two or three weeks, then there may be some cause for concern. But any thoughts that the Royals have become complacent or have lost their drive is simply not true.
