Round 4 – Pick 28: Jalin Marshall, Wide Receiver (Ohio State)

The KC Chiefs add yet another Buckeye to their roster in the fourth round, and it’s Jalin Marshall. This is one of the Chiefs’ riskier picks, as Marshall was a quarterback turned receiver during his time at Ohio State.

He only had 11 touchdowns in just two seasons, but he could be a pleasant surprise for whatever team is willing to take a chance on him.

This is a riskier pick for Kansas City, but if they can find a place for him in their offense, Jalin Marshall could be a steal.

Marshall is a very athletic player and is great at dump-off plays. The Chiefs are known to just have Alex Smith dump the ball off to the nearest guy and have him do the bulk of the work, and Jalin Marshall is great at those plays.

NFL.com considers Marshall to be more of a running back than a wide receiver, but with Kansas City taking Ezekiel Elliott in the first round, and having De’Anthony Thomas on their roster, it’s doubtful they’d use Marshall as a running back much.

Marshall could also come in and do kick and punt returns, as Frankie Hammond is not the answer for that, and Knile Davis will likely be on his way out of Kansas City this offseason. Marshall returned one punt for a touchdown during his college days.

This is a riskier pick for Kansas City, but if they can find a place for him in their offense, Jalin Marshall could be a steal.
