KC Royals: Top Ten Web Gems 2015 Regular Season

Number 7: Salvy Slides To Steal A Scoring Threat
Tigers at Royals, September 3rd
This game was back and forth from the get go. It was a high scoring affair with 12 total runs scored in the first two and a half innings.
It was also one of the shortest outings of Edinson Volquez‘ season as he lasted just three innings. The Royals held a lead of 8-6 over the Tigers when Chris Young gave up a lead-off walk followed by a double.
He struck out the next batter, gave up a fly ball to right, and then did what he does best to get out of the jam.
Chris Young has managed to get a lot of players to pop-up in his career. With a defense like the one the Royals possess behind him, those pop-fly outs turn into web gems from time to time.
Salvy showed that he’s not just good at deflecting foul balls off his face mask. He can also maneuver the foul grounds and uses those shin guards masterfully.
The play put an end to the Tigers’ scoring threat and helped secure the Royals 15-7 victory.
