KC Royals: Top Ten Web Gems 2015 Regular Season
By Scott Dillon
Number 8: Guthrie To Moose To Hosmer
Royals at Indians, July 29th
Jeremy Guthrie is wearing a different shade of blue these days. He’ll be missed in Kansas City for multiple reasons.
Guthrie has his hat turned around on multiple occasions this seasons, but it was usually to watch one of his pitches sail over the outfield fence.
Guthrie’s hat was turned around for a different reason on this play (though the home run hat turners would come later in this game). This time it was more of a “watch your face” kind of a move.
Tyler Holt lined a ball up the middle and Guthrie did a good job of just getting out of the way. He still managed to get a glove on it and his spinning around flung the ball to Mike Moustakas.
Mike Moustakas barehanded the ball and showed off an impressive arm in getting the ball across the diamond on the run.
Guthrie stayed in this game one inning too long as he gave up five runs in the sixth. It’s amazing he kept his composure for that long after seeing his life flash before his eyes on this play.
