Danny Duffy

Danny Duffy has done a lot of different things in his short professional career. The enigmatic pitcher for the Royals always seems to be changing things up.

Duffy will head into Spring Training this season unsure about whether or not he’ll be a reliever or a member of the starting rotation. He’s done both in his career but he’s also done pretty much everything.

In his career, Duffy has been a top prospect, recovered from Tommy John’s surgery, retired from baseball, been a starter, been a reliever, earned a four-inning save, worn a beard, shaved his beard, and occasionally doubled as a bear mascot. Duffy has been a tough nut to crack ‘fur sure’.

Because Duffy has a mysterious persona that’s hard to figure out, his walk-out song is “Oh Yeah” by Yello.

The biggest reason Duffy get’s this song selection is because it’s also the theme song for another enigmatic character. The character ‘Duff Man’ from the television show “The Simpsons” uses the same song as his theme music. What better fit for Danny Duffy than that of ‘Duff Man’?
