Wade Davis

Oh Wade Davis. Wader. The scariest closer in all of baseball.

No one would have thought those words would have come out of anyone’s mouth when Davis was first brought to Kansas City in a trade with Tampa Bay. He was originally a starter and did not fare well for the boys in blue.

Davis was eventually moved to the bullpen near the end of the 2013 season and the rest is history.

Since his move to the bullpen, Davis hasn’t had an ERA above 1.00. That is incredible!

No one thought Davis would be able to replicate the success he had in 2014 when he posted that 1.00 ERA and didn’t give up a single home run.

Well, he proved everyone wrong by posting a 0.94 ERA and only allowing eight runs all year. EIGHT RUNS!

Looking at opposing fans’ accounts on social media during the playoffs, it was obvious that whenever Davis was slated to take the mound, those fans were already shutting the game off and assuming their team was toast.

For this reason, Davis’ walk-out song is “The Final Countdown” by Europe.

Davis should more than likely remain the Kansas City Royals’ closer in 2016, and it’s all too likely that opposing team’s fans will continue dreading facing him.

Next: Oh yeah!
