Jarrod Dyson

Jarrod Dyson plays a pretty good defense for the Royals when he get’s the chance. He helped all of Kansas City to a sigh of relief when he made a great double play in his first start as Gordon’s replacement.

While his defense is above average, he’s really known for one thing: his speed.

Dyson is often used as a late game replacement when one of the Royals’ less fleet footed options is on base. Because of his speed Dyson’s song is ‘The Distance’ by Cake.

Dyson turns a single into a double nearly every time he gets on base. When he enters the game late he’s almost a lock to get into scoring position.

In the 2014 wild card game Dyson ripped off third and then proceeded to ‘rev’ his engines. The lyrics in this song “He’s going the distance. He’s going for speed.” fit Jarrod Dyson perfectly. He doesn’t need to go for speed because he’s already got it, but he does tend to ‘go the distance’ more often than not. That distance is about 90 feet.

What speedy song would you choose for Jarrod Dyson?
