Eric Hosmer

There were a lot of things to choose from when picking a song for Eric Hosmer.

His haircut ‘The Hoz’ could have inspired a song choice like ‘Cut Your Hair’ by Pavement. Ultimately, the song I chose for Eric Hosmer had to do with what took place in the World Series.

Eric Hosmer took a daring risk when he sprinted home in the top of the ninth inning to tie up game five. The Royals had come ninety feet away from tying a World Series game only a year earlier, and this act was a sign that they weren’t willing to come up that short again this year.

Eric Hosmer’s walk-up song is ‘I’m Coming Home’ by Diddy – Dirty Money featuring Skylar Grey.

The opening lyrics to the song perfectly capture what Eric Hosmer did in 90 short feet.

"I’m coming home, I’m coming home, Tell the world I’m coming home, Let the rain wash away, all the pain of yesterday, I know my kingdom awaits and they’ve forgiven my mistakes, I’m coming home, I’m coming home, Tell the world that I’m coming"

Eric Hosmer had made a mistake earlier in the World Series. He let a ball get by him on an error in game one that put the Mets in control. Alex Gordon hit a home run and Hosmer drove in the winner and all was forgiven.

Eric Hosmer tied the game on his ‘crazy’ attempt to go home and helped deliver a ‘Kingdom’ to Kansas City.

What song would you choose for ‘The Hoz’?
