Alex Gordon

This one was a difficult one to come up with. There are a number of songs that reference heroes.

Alex Gordon is a hero in Kansas City. He’s this generations George Brett. His stats don’t come anywhere close to George Brett’s but when you need him to come through, he does.

If he’s not making diving catches into the stands or running full-speed ahead into a wall, he’s hitting game tying home runs in the World Series.

I chose ‘There Goes My Hero’ by the Foo Fighters for Alex Gordon’s walk-up song.

Again there were a lot of songs about heroes but it was one of the lyrics in the chorus that sold me on this one. “There goes my hero, he’s ordinary”.

Alex Gordon is extraordinarily ordinary. He has a blue-collar approach to the game that the fans have come to love and respect.

What song would you choose for Gordo-Nation?
