Spring Training is only a couple weeks away. Could the KC Royals get an outfield bat for a bargain?

The KC Royals have been fairly active this off-season. They retained hometown hero Alex Gordon in a move that seemed unlikely as early as a few days prior. They brought back postseason strikeout wizard Chris Young on a deal that will help compensate for last years performance.

Ian Kennedy has been the only big new name to join the Royals’ roster while Joakim Soria was just another addition to the ‘Royals’ reunion’ that has been this off-season. There have also been some Minor League deals with players like Dillon Gee and Travis Snider stepping into the fold.

With the off-season nearly over, there are still several available free agents on the market. As spring training gets closer, the Royals’ chances of signing one of these players to a short term deal get better.

The Royals are already going to set a franchise record for opening day payroll in 2016. Is David Glass willing to keep loosening the purse strings and throw some dough at an everyday right fielder or even a depth piece?

Let’s take a look at some of the remaining free agents and see if any of them are a fit for the Royals budget or the team.
