Kansas City Royals all-time wins leaders: 12. Dick Drago (61 wins)

Dick Drago was a member of the original Kansas City Royals squad when he was the 31st pick in the 1968 expansion draft. He, like Bud Black, also posted a losing record during his tenure as a Royal, but he still cracks this list at number 12, and will likely go down as one of the best pitchers in team history.

Kings of Kauffman had Drago on their best pitchers list at number ten. Here is what the guys over there had to say about Drago,

"Drago had a number of interesting moments throughout his career. He allowed the final home run that Hank Aaron hit in his illustrious career. Drago once pitched a complete game, and faced only 13 batters in doing so, done in by a Frank Robinson home run in the first inning. His career was definitely interesting."

Drago was mostly a starter during his five years in Kansas City and pitched over 200 innings in all five of those seasons. His best season came in 1971 when he posted a 2.98 ERA and had a 17-11 record in 34 starts. He pitched 241.1 innings that year. Drago came in fifth for the Cy Young Award that season as well.

Despite posting a losing record, Dick Drago remains as one of the best pitchers in Kansas City Royals history.

After five years with the Royals, Drago moved on to Boston to pitch for the Red Sox and also pitched for the California Angels, Baltimore Orioles, and Seattle Mariners. He never pitched a postseason game for the Royals.
