  • Gura continued to have a solid career with Kansas City, starting an astounding 219 games and appearing in 310 total. His career ERA with the Royals was 3.72 and would have likely been lower, but he began to drop off tremendously near the last few years in Royal blue.

Gura made it to the All-Star game in 1980 and faced a career-high 1,175 batters in 36 starts. He finished the regular season with a 2.95 ERA and won 18 games.

He had decent outings during the postseason as well, appearing in nine games and starting eight. Gura had a 2-3 record in the postseason with an ERA of 3.89.

Larry Gura pitched for the Royals for ten years, which definitely helps his spot on this list, but let it be known that Gura did have quite a few good years in a Royals uniform. After he began to struggle (he had ERAs of 4.90, 5.18, 9.12, and 12.86 in his final four years as a Royal), he pitched for the Cubs in the second half of the 1985 season but called it quits after that.

He comes in at number five on the all-time wins list for the Kansas City Royals.
