Kansas City Chiefs: Way Too Early 2016 NFL Mock Draft
Round 4 – Pick 123: Dadi Lhomme Nicolas (Outside Linebacker, Virginia Tech)
With Tamba Hali potentially hitting the free agent market, the Chiefs need to start thinking about the future at outside linebacker. Sure, they also have Justin Houston who was given a huge contract last offseason, but the injuries to Houston really concern me.
He’s not going to come in right away and rock the team’s world, but he’s a solid option for the future.
The team also took Dee Ford in the first round of the 2014 NFL Draft, which at the time, really made no sense. Ford had some opportunities to prove himself in 2015 and in one game was able to sack Philip Rivers three times. That’s cool and all, but Ford was going up against a third-string offensive lineman. He didn’t make much of an impact in the other games he appeared in.
Simply put – It wouldn’t hurt if the Kansas City Chiefs opted to draft an outside linebacker in the 2016 NFL Draft, and Dadi Lhomme Nicolas (also known as Dadi Nicolas) would be a fine choice.
Nicolas spent four years at Virginia Tech and during his time there, racked up 165 tackles, 17 sacks, and forced three fumbles. At 6’3″ and 223 pounds, Nicolas could be a nice backup to Houston and to Ford/Hali (depending on what the future of his time in Kansas City is).
He’s not going to come in right away and rock the team’s world, but he’s a solid option for the future. By the time the fourth round rolls around, isn’t that the intention anyway?
Next: Two in one draft?!
