Number 9 Biggest Surprise Player for the Chiefs – Eric Fisher

Being the number one overall pick is tough, and it was really looking like Eric Fisher was headed straight for the draft bust purgatory. Fortunately, the former Central Michigan standout had a pretty good year in Kansas City, his third in the pros.

It’s a good thing when fans don’t hear much about the offensive linemen because it means they’re doing a good job.

A big part of Fisher’s problems in the league stemmed from

  • A) Injuries – He missed two games in his rookie season and another two this past season
  • B) Constantly changing positions – Originally a left tackle in college, Fisher was put at right tackle during his rookie season, where he struggled. He was moved back to left tackle last season, but then switched between both sides this year. He really shined in the left tackle spot, and hopefully that’s where Andy Reid elects to keep him.

It’s a good thing when fans don’t hear much about the offensive linemen because it means they’re doing a good job. That’s the case with Eric Fisher this year, as he was not the one to blame on the offensive line.

With one year remaining on his contract, Fisher needs to continue to prove himself in 2016 if he wants to stay with the KC Chiefs.
