KC Chiefs Biggest 2015 Disappointments – Number 2: De’Anthony Thomas

Coming out of the 2014 NFL Draft, KC Chiefs fans everywhere were looking forward to De’Anthony Thomas, also known as the Black Mambo, fielding punt returns. The kid is fast as hell and is a lot of fun to watch.

The NFL takes concussions very seriously, and Thomas was not cleared to play. In fact, he’s still recovering from said concussion, according to his Twitter account.

Unfortunately, Thomas barely played a factor in the Chiefs’ offense or special teams play this year, as he spent the last half of the year not suited up. Thomas appeared in ten games but didn’t make much of an impact.

He ended the season with 140 receiving yards off 17 receptions, 34 rushing off nine carries, and two total touchdowns (one rushing and one receiving). He did not have a special teams touchdown in 2015.

What kept Thomas out the last two months was a concussion he suffered in the game in San Diego. The NFL takes concussions very seriously, and Thomas was not cleared to play. In fact, he’s still recovering from said concussion, according to his Twitter account.

Hopefully, De’Anthony Thomas can recover during the off season and go back to being the electric punt returner that Chiefs fans know and love. No more Frankie Hammond, please.
