Round Three: Chris Conley

Grade: B-

Chris Conley played grade A football the last few weeks of the season. The only thing keeping him from a higher grade was early drops and his inability to earn snaps.

It took Conley a long time to learn the route trees, but the Chiefs may have a future star on their hands in the third round pick out of Georgia.

One Conley finally caught up to NFL speed he started to do some things that show he could be an excellent pass catcher alongside Jeremy Maclin. He only caught 17 passes on the year, but 12 of those went for first downs and he managed 199 yards.

His quickness and speed with the ball in his hands gives him ‘home-run’ potential every time he touches the ball.

Conley has potential not only as a downfield threat, but as a catch and run receiver who can do some damage out of the backfield. His quickness and speed with the ball in his hands gives him ‘home-run’ potential every time he touches the ball.

If he can use his speed to run some sweeps, the chiefs running game may get even better than it already is. Look for Chris Conley to expand his role in 2016 and be a great compliment to Maclin at the wide receiver position.

He already came up clutch in the playoffs scoring a touchdown that essentially put the game out of reach for the Texans. If he can continue to develop his timing with Alex Smith, the Chiefs could have a very deep receiving corps next season.
