The Kansas City Chiefs didn’t have much to play for after dropping to 1-5 on the season, but they hung in there, and as a result, the wins began to come.

The losing streak ended in week 7 when the Chiefs hosted the Pittsburgh Steelers at Arrowhead Stadium. Third string quarterback Landry Jones was taking snaps for the black and yellow, but the Chiefs did what they were supposed to do and defeated the Steelers.

  • The next week, the Chiefs traveled to London to “host” the Detroit Lions, another team who was struggling. Kansas City went on to destroy the Lions overseas and the momentum was somewhat coming back to the Chiefs.

After a bye week, the Chiefs were heading to Denver for a highly anticipated rematch. The Chiefs were eager for revenge on the team that originally sent their 2015 season in shambles, but they’d have to accomplish a feat they hadn’t done since 2004 – Defeat Peyton Manning.

Not only did Kansas City defeat Peyton Manning, they embarrassed him on national television. Manning threw four interceptions and only completed five passes for 35 yards before being benched in favor of Brock Osweiler.

The Chiefs finally took down the Broncos, and they were all of a sudden sitting at 4-5 and looking for a chance to break .500 in week 11 against the San Diego Chargers.
