KC Chiefs: Good, Bad, Ugly VS Houston Texans In Wild Card Game
The Bad: Injuries
The Chiefs have struggled with injuries all season long, and it continued in this game. For one, Mitch Morse wasn’t playing at center in this one, but Zach Fulton did just fine in that position.
Justin Houston was playing in his first game since late November, and the offensive line has been a jumbled injured mess throughout the season.
Maclin has been a HUGE difference maker for this offense, and if he’s out next week, it’ll really hurt this team.
The big injury in this game came to star receiver Jeremy Maclin, who was injured in the second half. The broadcast didn’t focus too much on Maclin’s injury, as J.J. Watt was injured on the same play. Maclin was later shown coming off the field and in tears, which was heartbreaking to see.
Maclin has been a HUGE difference maker for this offense, and if he’s out next week, it’ll really hurt this team. Not only will it hurt the offensive production, but it’ll cause Travis Kelce to get double teamed in coverage.
Charcandrick West was also injured in this one, which is why Spencer Ware was given the majority of the carries (16 carries as opposed to West’s eight).
My hopes for next weekend’s game in New England is that Morse is good to go at center and that Maclin is okay to play. I’m not going to get my hopes up too much on the second one though.
