The Good: Cairo Santos

Chiefs fans had every reason to be nervous about kicking in this game considering the way they lost years ago in the playoffs (a certain not-to-named kicker missing three field goals), but Cairo Santos was clutch.

Santos helped the Chiefs take a 13-0 lead by knocking through two 49-yard field goals in the first half. He later connected a 33-yard field goal through the uprights to give Kansas City a 30-0 lead in the fourth quarter.

Santos also had seven touchbacks, which prevented the Texans from attempting to return anything. Absolutely huge in a game this big.

The field goal unit had me nervous, especially after that botched field goal attempt last week against Oakland, but they came through in this one.

I made a bold prediction before the season that the Chiefs would replace Santos at some point during this season, but he’s had a decent sophomore season in the NFL. He’s got a big leg, and has the ability to put games away for the Chiefs.

Keep on rockin’, Cairo.
