Tyler Bray has the most arm talent of any quarterback on the Chiefs roster. He is the low-floor, high-ceiling alternative to Murray. In my opinion Bray has a better chance of turning into a starting quarterback.

Obviously the Chiefs would love another talented quarterback. Unfortunately talented quarterbacks usually go in the first round. If the Chiefs find a quarterback they like, I don’t think they should hesitate to pick him late in the first round.

Bray has such a strong arm, and can fit the ball into tight windows. Unfortunately Bray is also a flawed prospect. His mechanics and touch are rough. He still throws every pass like a fastball. More concerning that this though, is that he seems to be slow learning the offense.

It seems highly possible Bray is may be missing the mental portion of being a starting quarterback. The fact that he is actually younger than Murray gives cause for hope, but no reason not to draft a quarterback.

Where should the Chiefs draft a Quarterback?

This is where things get dicey.

Obviously the Chiefs would love another talented quarterback. Unfortunately talented quarterbacks usually go in the first round. If the Chiefs find a quarterback they like, I don’t think they should hesitate to pick him late in the first round.

If Brett Favre wasn’t good enough to keep Aaron Rodgers from being picked, Alex Smith shouldn’t prevent a first round quarterback from being taken. I think the Chiefs would be smart to take a quarterback in the first three rounds of the draft.

Beyond that, they will only be getting another Aaron Murray-type player, which is fine, except they already have Aaron Murray.
