KC Chiefs: Week 15 Good, Bad, Ugly VS Baltimore Ravens

The Bad: Offensive Line
Ahhhh, the offensive line. An area where the Kansas City Chiefs have struggled tremendously over the past few years. This week was no different.
The running game, despite a Charcandrick West touchdown on third and one, really wasn’t that effective in this game. West ended the day with 76 yards on 18 carries and a touchdown, but a lot of those yards came from that big 38-yard touchdown run.

The entire rushing attack totaled 113 yards on 28 carries.
It’s even sadder that the Chiefs offensive line struggled in this one considering that Baltimore’s defensive unit isn’t that good. A lot of their star players (Terrell Suggs to name a major one) were out in this game, and the Chiefs offensive line still got rocked. Not a good look.
- The absence of Jeff Allen due to injury has hurt this offensive line, as Zach Fulton just isn’t nearly as good of a left guard as he is as a right guard.
- Eric Fisher hasn’t looked as good since he got dinged up against Buffalo.
- One of the few bright spots has been Mitch Morse at center. What a stud he’s turned out to be!
Now don’t get me wrong, the offensive line has made a huge improvement this year over last. The line of Fisher, Allen, Morse, Laurent Duvernay-Tardif, and Jah Reid was gelling, and it showed.
Since those string of injuries occurred to Allen, however, the line hasn’t looked nearly as good. This needs to change if the Chiefs hope to make a playoff run.
