OFFENSIVE LINE. C. . OL. Kansas City Chiefs

After several decent weeks, the Chiefs’ offensive line did not play very good football on Sunday. Now I will say that it wasn’t nearly as bad as last season, where pretty much every week was a train wreck, but it still wasn’t great.

Smith was sacked four times. The run game had 89 yards total, with Charcandrick West “leading” the pack with 35 yards on nine carries. Spencer Ware had 26 yards on seven carries.

This line had impressed me during the win streak. The combination of Eric Fisher, Jeff Allen, Mitch Morse, Laurent Duvernay-Tardif, and Jah Reid seemed to be working well. Then last week, Fisher, Allen, and Morse were all banged up, which led to Zach Fulton and Donald Stephenson jumping onto the line.

Fulton played center this week in place of Morse, but the other two guys were able to play although Stephenson was out there quite a bit in the line of duty.

It showed that the line’s chemistry was out of whack a bit, but they eventually settled down and allowed Smith some time. Hopefully Morse can get back to it this week and the old line can get their mojo back.

We can’t have any offensive line problems heading into the final few weeks of the regular season.

Next: Exciting times!
