Alex Smith is dealing, folks.

He hasn’t thrown an interception since week three against Green Bay. He looks more comfortable every week. He’s now thrown a total of 14 touchdowns and only three interceptions with over 2,700 yards passing.

I know people are hard on Alex Smith, but he’s been doing pretty well lately. The game manager label has followed the former number one pick, but in this case… Is that really a bad thing? I mean… Smith hasn’t thrown a pick in over two months.

Smith finished the day on Sunday completing 16 passes out of 22 attempts for 143 yards and two touchdowns. Sure he didn’t throw for a ton of yards, but he was accurate and got the ball in the end zone.

The offensive line wasn’t doing Smith any favors, as Khalil Mack was beating him up all game long. Smith was sacked a total of four times, but he still put the ball in Maclin’s hands and even rushed in for a score himself. He had 23 yards on the ground in the Black Hole.

I said this in last week’s “Good, Bad, Ugly” edition, but if Alex Smith keeps playing this type of football, watch out for the Kansas City Chiefs down the stretch.
