Fantasy Football 2015: Start Em, Sit Em for Week 13
Nov 29, 2015; Santa Clara, CA, USA; Arizona Cardinals running back David Johnson (31) carries the ball against the San Francisco 49ers during the fourth quarter at Levi
Start ‘Em #3
David Johnson is another running back that is filling in for an injured starter. In this case, the starter was Chris Johnson, who his Cardinals teammates have said he is a steal for the Cardinals’ organization with the way he’s played thus far this season (according to ESPN).
Chris Johnson suffered a fractured tibia and will be out into the playoffs, which makes him worthless in terms of fantasy value. The injury leaves Johnson in the backfield with Andre Ellington who can’t stay on the field. Ellington has basically missed more than half of the season due to injury and he is likely to miss this week’s game as well.
The Cardinals take on the St. Louis Rams in a NFC West divisional rivalry game. David Johnson should be the primary ball carrier for the Cardinals offense at least until Ellington is back and fully healthy.
I would consider Johnson a #2 caliber running back with all of the injuries around the league so far this season. This is the most injuries to starting running backs that I’ve seen in years.
That aside, the Rams pose to be a pretty good matchup for Johnson as I see the Cards wanting to control the clock against the best pass rush in the NFL. Get him in your lineup as a flex or RB #2 this week.
