Start ‘Em #1
Scott Chandler is the New England Patriots’ backup tight end, but he will now be thrust into the starting lineup with starter Rob Gronkowski going down with another injury last weekend.
Chandler has been with the Bills until this year. He is a huge target at 6-foot-8, and Tom Brady already was starting to take advantage of having him in the lineup around the goal line. With Gronk and Julian Edelman out, he should be able to get a lot more targets making him a must-start option at tight end this week.
Thus far this season, Chandler hasn’t really played much and he hasn’t been very active in terms of fantasy production, but he scored in double-digits last week for the first time this season. With Tom Brady as his quarterback, he should be able to put up plenty more 10+ point performances as long as he’s the starter.
If Scott Chandler is a free agent in your league for some reason still, then you need to grab him immediately. As the starter in New England, I would consider him a top-5 tight end until Gronk comes back.
