2) Favorable schedule down the stretch

What killed the KC Chiefs earlier on in the season was that they had a very tough schedule. Right out of the gate, the Chiefs faced three playoff teams from last year in the first four weeks of the season.

Now, however, Chiefs fans can be thankful for the fact that their favorite football team won’t play a team with a record over .500 for the remainder of the season.

Here is what Kansas City’s remaining schedule looks like and what their opponent’s record is:

  • November 29th – Buffalo Bills (5-5)
  • December 6th – at Oakland Raiders (4-6)
  • December 13th – San Diego Chargers (2-8)
  • December 20th – at Baltimore Ravens (3-7)
  • December 27th – Cleveland Browns (2-8)
  • January 3rd – Oakland Raiders (4-6)

As you can see, the schedule is completely favorable for the Chiefs in moving towards their goal of making the playoffs. Originally, the away game against the Ravens seemed like a scary match-up, but now the Ravens will be without Joe Flacco and without Justin Forsett. I really like Kansas City’s odds in that one now.

I guess the scariest game(s) on the schedule would be the two against Oakland. The Raiders are a different team this year, and they’ve always played the Chiefs well and competitive, even when they were a bad team.

Be thankful Chiefs fans… This schedule gives your team the ability to control their own destiny heading into the stretch of the 2015 season.
