Kansas City Chiefs fans should be especially thankful for the magnificent special teams unit their team has this season. In particular, one Dustin Colquitt.

Colquitt has been with the Chiefs since he was drafted by them out of Tennessee in the third round back in the 2005 NFL Draft. People might have scoffed at the time at taking a punter in the third round, but Chiefs fans have had the last laugh for sure.
Without Dustin Colquitt, it’s very possible that the Broncos and Chargers would have been able to put more points on the board than they were able to.
Colquitt has proven time and time again that he’s an incredible punter and continues to be just as terrific as always. In the Chiefs’ most recent game, Colquitt punted the ball five times and downed four of those punts inside the 20. The one punt that wasn’t inside the 20 was fumbled by San Diego’s return man, and Kansas City got the ball back.
Having a tremendous punter like Colquitt helps the Chiefs out a great deal because it puts the opposing team in a tough place. Anytime a team has to start their possession inside of their own 20-yard line, it makes things really difficult, especially if you have to do it every single time.
Without Dustin Colquitt, it’s very possible that the Broncos and Chargers would have been able to put more points on the board than they were able to. That’s what a good punter can do though. Lethal, man.
