Danny Amendola is probably one of the most injury-plagued receivers in the entire NFL. That being said, it is time to pick him up in all leagues across the fantasy football world.

Amendola is now one of the Patriots top targets with wide-out Julian Edelman suffering a pretty severe foot injury that will sideline him for the majority of the rest of the season. Amendola will now be the Pats’ primary slot receiver barring injury.

Julian Edelman was Tom Brady’s favorite target other than the best tight end in the NFL and maybe in history in Rob Gronkowski. He mostly played in the slot, which seems to be one of Brady’s favorite positions to utilize. Proof of this is the emergence of Edelman right on time with the departure of the kind of the slot position in Wes Welker, who just signed with the St. Louis Rams last week.

Amendola will now attempt to help fill the void left by Edelman, and will be the new primary slot receiver. He should see an excess of 6+ targets per game if he can stay out of the field. And while that might be a huge IF, he shouldn’t be on any league’s waiver wire after this week.

Until Edelman returns, Amendola could be a pretty solid #2 fantasy wide-out and a great flex option. Get him if you can.
