The Bad: Offense

The good news for the KC Chiefs on Sunday was that their offense only had to get by doing the bare minimum, and that was reaching the end zone twice (one on an 80 yard catch and run by Charcandrick West that gave Alex Smith most of his passing yards on the day) and settling for five field goals.

The Chiefs face a favorable schedule from here on out, but their offense has to perform better if this team wants to have any shot at making it to the postseason.

The bad news is that it’s not going always going to work out in Kansas City’s favor if they constantly settle for three rather than six. They can’t keep relying on Cairo Santos to get the points for them, they have to start punching the ball into the end zone.

It is worth noting that Denver’s defense is one of the, if not THE, best defenses in the entire league… and the Chiefs put up 29 points against them. On that same note though, I don’t think Kansas City would have had nearly as much success against the Denver D had the KC D not come out in full force and gotten five interceptions.

The only reason I don’t have the offense under ugly was because they took advantage of their good field position and at least did SOMETHING with it. The Chiefs also won, which always puts me in a better mood.
