Sit ‘Em #2

Colts starting running back Frank Gore has been pretty steady so far this season in his first not in a San Francisco 49er uniform. He has been able to put up good yardage totals in almost every game this season, but has somewhat struggled to get the ball into the endzone, keeping his fantasy value at a #2 back.

Gore has only been able to score three touchdowns so far this year, but unlike a lot of starting backs throughout the league, he has been able to keep healthy. Luckily for Gore owners, this is how he has been his entire career. He is one of the most durable backs in the NFL and it raises his fantasy value because owners almost never have to worry about a major injury with Gore.

In Week 9 though, the Indianapolis Colts and Gore go up against the best defense in the NFL in the Denver Broncos. The Broncos have proven to be an outstanding unit on all three levels of the defense and have really carried the Broncos to their perfect record thus far.

I don’t see Gore finding much room in Week 9 against Von Miller and co. in the studly linebacking corp that the Broncos possess.

Consider him a decent flex option this week, but not anything more. Look to guys like DeAngelo Williams and Jeremy Langford to put into your lineup this week over Gore.

Owners should be very careful starting Gore this week as the fantasy football season is starting to heat up.
