Game 4 of the ALCS was a big one for Kansas City, as they fell to the Blue Jays the night prior. The Royals made sure to make their strategy come alive early on, as R.A. Dickey struggled on the mound for Toronto.

The Royals were up 4-0 in the first inning due to Zobrist homering and scoring both him and Escobar as a result. Cain walked, stole second, and scored on a Hosmer single. Hosmer later moved to second on a passed ball and a Morales ground out. He made it to home plate after Moustakas hit a sacrifice fly.

With the Royals up 5-2 in the seventh inning, Kansas City began to pile on the runs. Salvador Perez walked, Gordon singled, Rios singled, Escobar hit a sac fly to score Perez, Gordon scored on a wild pitch, Cain singled to score Paulo Orlando (running for Rios), and Hosmer singled home Zobrist, who had walked earlier on.

This game ended up being a 14-2 rout of the Blue Jays and set the pace for the rest of the series. The Royals won in six games to advance to their second straight World Series.
