The Scariest Players in KC Royals History – Number Three: Bo Jackson
Bo Jackson was as formidable of an athlete as there has ever been. He was a unique blend of power and speed that the game of baseball has ever seen, or football for that matter.
He had to have struck fear and awe in opposing pitchers, with his ability to hit the ball into orbit or being able to break bats over his head and knee like big toothpicks.
His career strikeout numbers make Balboni’s seem superb. While he knocked out 109 home runs in only 511 games for the Royals, he whiffed a horrific 638 times, including a majors-leading 172 times in 1989. That was the same season he hit 32 homers and won the All-Star Game MVP.

We’ll never know what could have been. One thing is for sure, though. Opposing pitchers had to be frightened of that bat and the power behind it.
