Get Russell the Ball
If Russell Hansbrough were healthy, this Missouri offense wouldn’t be struggling as they currently are. Like I said before, Ish Witter isn’t an every down back, and it’s blatantly apparent as of late. After running for 98 yards in Lock’s first start, Witter has amassed only 57 yards in the last three losing games.
The most carries he’s received in a game is 11. He needs to be seeing closer to 20 in order for the Tigers to succeed.
Senior Russell Hansbrough has run for just 202 yards in eight games, the complete opposite of last year’s output, and the big back has yet to have a real breakout game.
The loss against Florida could be considered Hansbrough’s best game this season, as he rushed for 74 yards but, he needs to get the ball more than he has. The most carries he’s received in a game is 11. He needs to be seeing closer to 20 in order for the Tigers to succeed.
Simply put, Russell Hansbrough needs to be healthy before he can really make an impact, but once he’s good to go, this Mizzou offense should hopefully be able to get something done on the field.
