Mizzou Football: How To Fix The Offense

Top to bottom, plain and simple, this offense is flawed.

The offensive line can’t give whoever’s at quarterback any time. The key running back, Russell Hansbrough, can’t stay healthy and play an entire game. Ish Witter isn’t good enough to be an every down back. There is no wide receiver who can make the big play when needed, and the freshman quarterback, Drew Lock, has no confidence.

Not all the blame falls onto Lock, as I said in my article discussing the quarterback controversy a week ago, it also falls on offensive coordinator Josh Henson. Of course, how could it not? Missouri is the first team in the SEC in 19 years to score six points or fewer in three straight games:

Josh Henson made some interesting comments when filling in for Gary Pinkel on his weekly radio show on Tuesday saying,

"“Obviously, I’m as frustrated as everyone is, just like our players are. You can dwell on the negatives and let the frustration get to you, but the biggest thing you have to do is try to stay positive, look at the things that are happening that are somewhat positive and try to build on those things.”"
