The Bad: Drew Lock

I’ve been a Drew Lock fan since the day he signed to be a Missouri Tiger. I’ve wanted him to be the starter of this offense since the second game this season. But his play this week was inexcusable.

Lock, who had a great game in his first start against South Carolina, has struggled mightily since, and it isn’t a coincidence that the Tigers have lost every game since. On Saturday, Lock was 14 for 34, with only 108 yards.

Normally, a performance like that would land him in my “Ugly” slide, however, Drew Lock only gets some of the blame from me for his poor performance. Most of the blame goes to the overwhelmed offensive line that can barely ever give him any time to make a time, and the rest of the blame goes to a young receiving group that can’t catch a ball or make a play to save their life, let alone to save the team’s season.

Hopefully, those bullets will pack a little more punch next season, and maybe his flak jacket that is supposed to protect him will be able to hold up a little more.
