The Kansas City Royals were one of the hottest teams in baseball coming out of the All-Star break.
Things only got more intense for the team when Dayton Moore made big moves in acquiring Johnny Cueto and Ben Zobrist. Cueto gave the Royals a true ace and Zobrist added a bat and a guy who could play multiple positions in the infield and any spot in the outfield.
Cueto coming to Kansas City just showed that this team was all in for the 2015 season.
When the news of the Royals getting Cueto surfaced, it was a new feeling for Royals fans. Typically the Royals were always sellers at the deadline. They were out of any postseason race by the time June rolled around and had nothing to gain by giving away their big time players at the trade deadline.
Even last season when the Royals looked to be making a splash at getting into the playoffs saw Moore standing pat with the team. Sure, Josh Willingham came to Kansas City, but nothing major occurred for the team and people were upset.
Cueto coming to Kansas City just showed that this team was all in for the 2015 season. Fans got even more excited when word spread that Zobrist would be a Royal to finish off 2015 as well.
It was a whole new feeling for Kansas City Royals fans and luckily, the ride was still just beginning.
